Assistant Accountant

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established business in Northampton as an Assistant Accountant. This role offers a broad remit across both UK and US operations, providing valuable exposure to payroll, supplier payments, month-end processes, and intercompany reconciliations.

The Role:

• Handle supplier payments and invoice queries
• Post and prepare monthly management accounts for final review
• Support reconciliation of stock accounts, credit cards, and balance sheets
• Assist with year-end audits and maintain VAT schedules
• Process weekly payroll and handle supplier payments
• Maintain cash book and daily bank reconciliations

Experience:

• Proven experience in an Assistant Accountant or similar role
• Intermediate Excel skills and solid understanding of debits/credits
• Familiarity with Sage 50 and Microsoft Business Central preferred
• Detail-oriented, methodical, and confident working independently or in a small team
• Comfortable supporting both UK and international finance functions

This is a brilliant role for someone looking to take ownership of core finance processes within a stable and growing organisation. You will be rewarded with a salary of between £32,000-£36,000 per annum plus benefits.
