Job Description - Assistant Accountant

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the position is based in the newly built and modern Stockport office. The role is to support the Corporate Accounting team in various aspects of operations and management accounts. This a fast-paced environment and will involve taking ownership of several tasks and working with a high volume of data.

Account preparation of Holding Companies, posting of monthly journals such as accruals and prepayments
Assisting finance manager and management accountants in monthly P&L reporting and analysis, including cost centre reporting
Assistance with tracking of credit card transactions
Assistance with cash sweeping
Assistance with the management of unallocated cash
Daily bank account postings
Raise inter-group management fee invoices
Supporting on the year end audit, resolving queries with accompanying evidence etc
Assist the wider team with ad-hoc tasks
Maintain knowledge and adhere to relevant Group Policies and Procedures, Legislation and Regulations

AAT part qualified or newly qualified
Looking to study CIMA/ACCA
Transactional accounting experience
Proficiency in Excel (vlookups & pivot tables)
Excellent data entry and organisational skills
Strong attention to detail
An enthusiastic and positive approach to tasks and duties with a desire to develop within an Accountancy career
Experience of using Power BI (desired)
Experience working with investment property, development and construction industries (desired)
