Assistant Accountant

Hays is recruiting an Assistant Accountant for an established and highly respected Accountancy firm in Colchester
As part of a happy and stable team, you will manage a diverse portfolio of clients across various industries, ensuring their financial records are accurate and up to date.

Key Responsibilities:

• Bookkeeping
• Maintain precise financial records and handle reconciliations
• Process transactions and prepare VAT returns
• Liaise with clients to offer support and resolve queries
• Assist with management accounts as needed
• Collaborate with the team to meet deadlines effectively

What They're Looking For:

• Ideally AAT qualified or part-qualified
• Experience in a similar role, either Practice or industry
• Strong proficiency in cloud accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, Sage)
• A proactive, detail-oriented approach with excellent communication skills
