Assistant Accountant

We're working with a thriving organisation based in Leeds that is looking to welcome a Finance Assistant into their growing team. This is a newly created role designed to support the finance function as the business continues to scale.

If you're someone with a solid grounding in finance, a knack for numbers, and a desire to progress professionally, this could be the perfect next step. The company offers hybrid working, study support for ACCA or CIMA, and a salary of up to £35,000.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Assisting in the preparation of monthly financial reports and performance summaries
• Handling core month-end duties including reconciliations, journal entries, and adjustments
• Supporting the budgeting cycle and helping to forecast future financial performance
• Conducting variance analysis and helping to explain key financial movements
• Liaising with internal teams to ensure accurate financial data and reporting
• Maintaining intercompany balances and director-related accounts
• Contributing to the development of internal processes and financial controls
• Providing guidance to junior team members and supporting transactional finance

What We're Looking For:

• At least 5 years of experience in a finance or accounting role
• Experience in a small to medium-sized business environment is a plus
• A proactive mindset with a strong attention to detail
• Keen to pursue further qualifications (ACCA/CIMA)
