Assistant Accountant

We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join their close-knit and friendly finance team on a permanent basis.

Your new role
Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations, including:

• Processing Purchase Ledger, statement reconciliation and dealing with related queries
• Processing Sales Ledger, managing payments and credit control procedures
• Processing staff expenses and reconciliation of credit cards
• Reconciliation of bank accounts (GBP and Euro) processing transactions, BACS, faster payments etc
• Assisting with preparation of VAT return
• Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts and ad hoc reports and analysis
• General administration and proving holiday cover as required

What you'll need to succeed
Min of AAT level 3 and relevant experience
Excellent communicator
Proactive in dealing with issues and queries
Competent in using accounting systems
Strong Excel skills, knowledge of SAP an advantage

What you'll get in return
Competitive annual salary £30,000 - £32,000 per annum
22 days annual leave, plus banks and 2 extra days at Christmas
Fully on-site role
Hours: Monday to Thursday 8.30-5pm, 8.30 - 2pm Friday
