Description

Assistant Accountant responsibilities:

• Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Maintain and reconcile financial records, including ledgers and bank accounts.
• Support the preparation of budgets and forecasts for the Accounting & Finance department.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
• Prepare VAT returns and assist with tax filings.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure proper financial documentation and processes.
• Assist in year-end audit preparation and liaise with external auditors as required.
• Provide general support to the finance team on ad hoc projects and tasks.

Profile

A successful Assistant Accountant should have:

• A recognised qualification in accounting or a related field.
• Experience in financial reporting, reconciliations, and VAT preparation.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• An understanding of financial regulations and compliance requirements.
• An analytical mindset with great attention to detail.
