Assistant Accountant

Our client is the largest supplier in both the UK and Europe.

The ideal candidate will have a can-do attitude, strong team work ethic with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. The role requires the individual to meet deadlines whilst also being able to respond to daily requests from the Accounts Manager.

Main Duties

Your main duty will be to provide general overall finance support to the Accounts Manager some of which includes the below:

• Daily banking and reconciliation: Manage and reconcile daily banking transactions
• Month-end accounts: Assist with the preparation, accruals, prepayments and closing of month-end accounts
• Billing reconciliation: Ensure accuracy in billing and resolve discrepancies
• Revenue assurance: Monitor and verify revenue streams to ensure accuracy
• Monthly sales reporting: Prepare and analyse monthly sales reports
• Cash flow forecasting: Assist in forecasting cash flow to manage financial planning
• Headcount analysis: Analyse and report on staffing levels and costs
• Support management accountants: Provide support to senior management accountants in various tasks
• Ad hoc duties: Perform other duties as required within the finance team

Skills:

• Previous experience of Management Accounts is essential
• Knowledge of VAT returns
• SAGE 50 experience beneficial
• Strong IT skills
• Ability to prioritise and have great attention to detail
• Ability to work on their own as well as part of the team, create own deadlines and manage own workload
