Assistant Accountant

Let's be honest, you've probably read a dozen job ads that all sound the same.

Here's the deal, this Harrogate based business we need an Assistant Accountant who knows their way around the numbers, someone who can keep the day-to-day ticking, help out at month-end, and isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves.

It's a hands-on role. There's variety, proper support, and room to grow. If that sounds more appealing than just "processing invoices all day," read on.

What you'll be doing:

• Day-to-day finance stuff - purchase ledger, sales ledger, bank reconciliations.
• Month-end duties - journals, accruals, prepayments.
• Supporting multiple businesses - keeps things interesting (and gives you broader experience).
• Working closely with a Finance Manager who won't breathe down your neck but will have your back.
• Helping improves processes - if you see a better way of doing things, we want to hear it.

What we're not:

• A massive faceless corporation.
• A place that buries you in admin and forgets your name.
• A team that thinks "training" means handing you a login and hoping for the best.

What we'd like you to bring:

• A bit of experience in a finance team - nothing crazy, just enough to know the ropes.
• A good grasp of double-entry, reconciliations, and the usual suspects.
• Working towards AAT/ACCA/CIMA? Great. We'll support that.
• Common sense, curiosity, and a bit of initiative.

The package:

• Location: Harrogate - mostly office-based. We're a collaborative bunch.
• Salary: Up to £35,000 depending on experience.
• Hours: Full-time.
