Hays Accountancy & Finance are partnering with a leading, established and growing agricultural group based in Ledbury, Herefordshire, to recruit a dynamic & driven Senior Accounts Assistant/Assistant Accountant. The position will offer career development as you progress within the group to support and take ownership of monthly management accounts preparation. You will support the Management Accountant along with building internal relationships at all levels. Offering a study package for AAT/CIMA/ACCA/ACA along with remote/office hybrid working once settled in. The role is also open to finance professionals who are also qualified by experience. Your new role

Your key duties will involve accruals, prepayments and processing journals, along with sales invoicing with various reconciliations. You will calculate recharges, process invoices, support the preparation of various financial reports, along with support the management accountant in reviewing the monthly accounts with internal stakeholders/management. You will support the Management Accountant with the preparation of monthly management accounts, along with annual budget and forecasting processes as you develop in the role. You will be involved in ad-hoc projects, process improvement and supporting other finance team members, along with your duties growing as you progress within the business.

What you'll need to succeed

To be considered for this progressive Senior Accounts Assistant/Assistant Accountant role, you will need experience in a similar position, ideally studying for ACCA/CIMA/ACA/AAT or be qualified by experience. You will be comfortable with financial systems; key MS Excel skills and be used to managing workloads to meet deadlines. You will be willing to learn and develop, strong communication to build internal/external relationships at all levels, key problem-solving skills and adaptable to business needs. Experience within an agricultural or farming group would be advantageous but not essential.
