On behalf of our client, a globally recognised manufacturing business, we are seeking an Assistant Accountant to join their high-performing finance team at their Merthyr Tydfil site.

The Assistant Accountant will support the day-to-day operations of the finance department, assisting in the preparation of monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, and various financial reporting duties. This role is ideal for someone who is keen to develop their technical skills and gain exposure in a global setting.

• Assist in preparing accurate and timely management accounts

• Support month-end processes, including journals, accruals, and prepayments

• Maintain and reconcile key balance sheet accounts

• Contribute to budgeting and forecasting cycles

• Provide financial analysis to support operational decision-making

• Assist with internal and external audit requirements

• Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies

• Part-qualified (AAT / ACCA / CIMA) or actively studying

• Previous experience in a similar finance or accounting role

• Strong Excel skills and experience with ERP systems (desirable)

• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills

• Proactive, with a strong willingness to learn and develop

• Able to work collaboratively in a team and manage time effectively
