Assistant Accountant

Job Title: Management Accountant
Location: Knowsley, Liverpool
Salary: £30,000 - £45,000 (DOE) + Study Support
Working Hours: Full-Time | Office-Based

Overview:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and detail-oriented Management Accountant to join a growing finance team. This role is ideal for a finance professional who is qualified, part-qualified, or actively studying towards ACCA, CIMA, or an equivalent qualification. Full study support is available.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare monthly management accounts, including journals, accruals, and prepayments
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting
• Conduct variance analysis and provide insights to management
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and maintain financial controls
• Prepare and submit VAT returns
• Support year-end audit processes
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders to deliver financial insight
• Identify and implement process improvements
• Assist with cash flow forecasting and analysis

Requirements:

• Experience in a Management Accountant or Assistant Management Accountant role
• Actively studying towards ACCA/CIMA or qualified by experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with accounting software (Sage desirable)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
• Proactive and eager to develop professionally
