Assistant Accountant

Michael Page are recruiting for an Assistant Accountant on behalf of a large, well-established organisation based in Rochdale.

Client Details

Our client is a well-established business who are seeking an ambitious assistant accountant to join their existing finance team. This role will work closely with the management accountant and is a fantastic opportunity for a candidate looking to gain more month end management accounts exposure.

Description

The key responsibilities of an Assistant Accountant will include:

• Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts, including accruals and prepayments.
• Support the reconciliation of balance sheets and bank accounts.
• Contribute to the preparation of VAT returns and other compliance-related tasks.
• Monitor accounts receivable and payable to ensure timely processing of invoices.
• Provide support in budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Help maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
• Collaborate with other teams to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
• Assist with ad hoc accounting projects as required.

Profile

The successful Assistant Accountant will:

• Be part qualified ACCA / CIMA.
• Have a proven track record in a finance role with knowledge of month end processes.
• Proficient in MS Excel (Vlookups, Pivot Tables etc).
• Be an excellent written and verbal communicator.
• Be able to work to tight deadlines.
• Have a high level of attention to detail.
