Assistant Accountant

Elevation Recruitment Group is proud to be working in partnership with a successful and forward-thinking business based in Kirmington, North Lincolnshire, in their search for an ambitious Assistant Accountant to join their finance team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to take the next step in their finance career within a supportive and fast-paced environment. Full training will be provided, and study support towards a professional qualification (ACCA / ACA / CIMA) is available following successful completion of probation.

Key responsibilities:

• Assisting in the preparation of the monthly management accounts pack
• Updating annual product costings and customer price lists
• Submitting monthly payroll data to the external payroll bureau
• Supporting month-end and year-end processes, including journals, reconciliations, stock counts, and expense claims
• Preparing quarterly VAT returns
• Managing aspects of Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Performing ad-hoc financial analysis and tasks as required

Person Specification:

• Strong academic qualifications (A Levels) and/or AAT Level 3 or 4 (or equivalent)
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and general IT systems
• Excellent attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
• Clear and professional communication skills
• Comfortable interpreting and presenting financial information
• Desire to progress and develop a long-term career in finance
• Approachable and professional with strong interpersonal skills
• Confident using initiative and exercising sound judgment
• Proactive and eager to contribute to continuous improvement
• Conscientious, organised, and reliable
• Honest, trustworthy, and adaptable with a positive attitude
