Are you detail-oriented, organised, and ready to support a growing business that’s helping the environment? We’re looking for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join a dynamic team in this sector.

Our client creates cleaner, more sustainable communities. As a Finance Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in keeping their operations running smoothly by ensuring their financial processes are accurate, efficient, and compliant.

You’ll work closely with the finance and operations teams, gaining hands-on experience in everything from invoicing and reconciliations to reporting.

This is more than just a numbers job. You’ll be:

• Processing invoices and managing supplier accounts

• Supporting month-end reporting and financial analysis

• Helping track costs related to vehicles, fuel, and recycling

• Working with teams across the business to ensure accurate billing

• Playing a key role in our mission to reduce waste and improve efficiency

Key requirements

• Proven experience in an accounts assistant or similar role, ideally within the construction sector

• Basic understanding of accounting principles and practices

• High degree of numeracy / confidence in working with numbers

• Experience in bookkeeping and/or purchase ledger highly desirable

• Familiarity with accounting software (company uses software tailored to the construction industry)

• Proficient in use of Microsoft Excel

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy and good organisational skills

• Excellent communication skills for liaising with internal and external stakeholders

• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines while maintaining quality output

• Knowledge of CIS (Construction Industry Scheme) is highly desirable

• AAT qualification (or working towards) is advantageous (or part qualified ACCA/CIMA)
