Assistant Accountant

Marks Sattin are delighted to be working with a confidential international organisation based on the outskirts of Leeds to recruit an Assistant Accountant.

This is an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified accountant or ambitious finance professional looking to gain international exposure and develop their career in a dynamic and collaborative environment. The role offers hybrid working and study support.

• Support data analysis and operational reporting across the international business.
• Maintain accurate records of accrued expenses and prepayments for period-end adjustments.
• Reconcile control accounts and inter-company balances to ensure financial accuracy.
• Assist with journal entries and general ledger activities.
• Prepare VAT returns and support statutory compliance.
• Contribute to year-end financial reporting and external audit coordination.
• Support quarterly SOX compliance testing and documentation.
• Assist with payroll-related accounting entries.
• Identify and implement process improvements across finance operations.
• Provide support on ad hoc tasks and finance projects.

• Part-qualified accountant (CIMA or equivalent) or actively studying.
• Strong Excel skills; experience with SAP or similar ERP systems is a plus.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
• Adaptable and proactive in a fast-paced environment.
