Our client is a well-established group of companies who have been acquiring new businesses recently, due to expansion we are supporting them recruit an Assistant Accountant to join their Watford based finance team.

Reporting into the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for;

Checking bank statements and updating the cashbook for all currencies (daily).Processing vendor invoicesRetrieving information from supplier portals/emails.Posting/analysis/inputting of invoices/credits on to SAGE 200 including coding to trial balance accountsMaintaining AP ledgers, AP spreadsheets and reports.Ensuring documents are authorised as per company procedures including chasing other members ofstaff for approval.Maintaining nominal ledger.Managing recurring and monthly journals.Ensuring the purchase invoices tie up with purchase ordersPreparing weekly payment runs/weekly cash flowUploading payments on the bank’s net banking system.Posting and allocating payments received and sent on a daily basis.Checking purchase/bought ledger statements.Communicating with suppliers by phone or email.Archiving accounts’ documents as per company procedure, including scanning AP documentationonto SAGE 200.Assisting with VAT reconciliationProcessing staff credit card expenses and analysis.Assisting with raising customer credit notes.Uploading invoices/credit notes in the portal for the European subsidiary companyMaintaining/updating the fixed assets register.Issuing intercompany invoices or debit notes.

Skills & experience:

• MAAT
• Sage 200 or an ERP
• Previous experience in the skills and duties above
• Live within a commutable distance to Watford.
