Assistant Accountant

Hugely successful international law firm are seeking a part-qualified Assistant Accountant to support with all statutory financial reporting and management accounting across the firm.

• £40,000 - £45,000
• Hybrid Working - 3 days office / 2 remote, hours - 9:30am to 5:30pm
• Chancery Lane

Reporting directly into the Financial Controller, working in a large cohesive Finance team, the Assistant Accountant will be expected to provide consistent application of accounting policies and practices across the firm whilst adhering to firm guidelines. The firm requires an individual who enjoys an autonomous role who can grow with the London office, eventually qualifying as an Accountant.

Assistant Accountant duties include:

• Assisting with the whole UK and overseas accounting functions i.e., accruals, prepayment, fixed assets, etc.
• Production, review, and distribution of month-end reports
• Reviewing both UK and overseas management accounts
• Prepare statistics for Board meetings
• Maintaining Office P&Ls, balance sheets, budget reports and bank reconciliations

Assistant Accountant requirements:

• You will be studying towards a recognised accounting qualification
• Currently operating in a law firm’s accounts department
• Possess a clear advanced working knowledge of Excel, Power BI reporting knowledge is a plus
• Strong data mining skills, general ledger management and organisation skills are also essential
