Assistant Accountant - Hiring Fast

A leading construction company based in the Medway area is looking for an Assistant Accountant to join their team on an interim basis. This role offers a competitive daily rate and the chance to secure a permanent position at the end of the term for the right candidate.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Assist with the preparation and analysis of financial statements and reports.
• Support the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely completion.
• Maintain accurate financial records and compliance with legal regulations.
• Prepare financial reports and assist with budgeting and forecasting.
• Handle bookkeeping tasks and prepare tax documents.
• Collaborate with external auditors to ensure proper adherence to all regulations.
• Enhance internal controls and contribute to the development of financial procedures and systems.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Demonstrable experience in an accounting role, preferably within the construction sector.
• Strong grasp of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
• Proficient with MS Office and accounting software.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
• AAT qualified or part-qualified ACCA/CIMA (or equivalent) is desirable.
