Assistant Accounts Manager

TPF Recruitment is supporting a growing firm of chartered accountants in Eastbourne in their search for an Assistant Manager (General Practice) to join their expanding team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified accountant to join a firm that is experiencing rapid growth, with exciting prospects for career development and progression.

This position is suited to someone with a strong background in general practice who is ready to take the next step in their career. You will play a key role in managing client relationships, overseeing the delivery of accounting and tax services, and supporting the firm’s ongoing success.

About the Role:

• As an Assistant Manager, your responsibilities will include:
  
• Managing a varied portfolio of clients across different sectors
  
• Reviewing accounts, tax returns, and VAT returns prepared by junior staff
  
• Preparing more complex accounts and tax computations
  
• Providing strategic advice and support to clients on their business and tax affairs
  
• Acting as a key point of contact for clients, building and maintaining strong working relationships
  
• Supporting and mentoring junior team members
  
• Assisting with workflow management and ensuring deadlines are met
  
• Supporting partners in the ongoing development of the firm and its services
  

Requirements:

• ACA/ACCA qualified with a background in UK accountancy practice
  
• Solid experience in general practice, including accounts preparation, tax compliance and client management
  
• Strong technical knowledge of accounting and tax standards
  
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  
• Experience in mentoring or supervising junior staff is desirable
