The school supports 101 wonderful children and their families and is part of a well-respected multi-academy trust.

The school specialises in supporting children with moderate learning difficulties, communication needs and autism spectrum conditions. Staff are passionate about helping pupils thrive through a broad, engaging and highly supportive curriculum.

The Role

Working closely with the Premises Manager, you will help ensure the school site remains safe, secure, clean and well-maintained.

Key responsibilities include:

Carrying out general maintenance and repairs across the school site
Basic plumbing, decorating, carpentry and DIY tasks
Repairing locks, rehanging doors and installing shelving or display boards
Assisting with site security, opening and locking procedures
Monitoring alarms, heating, lighting and site equipment
Supporting deliveries, furniture moves and room setups
Maintaining the appearance of school buildings and grounds
Litter picking, leaf clearance and keeping pathways safe and accessible
Supporting the cleaning team when required
Assisting with school events and room preparation
Liaising professionally with contractors, visitors and staff
Deputising for the Premises Manager when requiredAbout You

We are looking for someone who:

Has experience in maintenance, caretaking, facilities or a trade-based role
Is confident carrying out basic building repairs and maintenance
Has strong DIY or handyman skills
Works methodically, safely and efficiently
Remains calm and composed in a busy environment
Has excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Is flexible, reliable and proactive
Enjoys working as part of a team
Has good communication skills
Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of childrenDesirable

School premises or caretaker experience
First Aid qualification
Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Office 365
