The Role

As an Assistant Caretaker, you will work closely with the Site Manager/Caretaker to ensure the school premises are safe, secure and well maintained.

Key Responsibilities

* Assist with the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of the school site.

* Carry out general repairs and basic maintenance tasks where required.

* Ensure classrooms, communal areas, playgrounds and external areas are safe and presentable.

* Support with setting up and clearing rooms for school activities and events.

* Carry out routine checks of the building, grounds and facilities.

* Report any maintenance, health and safety or security issues promptly.

* Assist with opening and securing the school site when required.

* Support deliveries, contractors and visitors accessing the premises.

* Help maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for pupils, staff and visitors.

* Follow school health and safety, safeguarding and security procedures.

* Work as part of the wider premises and facilities team.

* Previous caretaking, maintenance, facilities or site experience is desirable but not essential.
