Assistant Driller

We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Driller / Second Man to join a geothermal drilling operation in Sheffield, supporting an experienced Lead Driller on site.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a background in drilling, groundworks, construction, plant operations or other outdoor site-based work who is looking to develop a career within the renewable energy sector.

Key Responsibilities:

Assisting the Lead Driller with geothermal borehole drilling

*

Supporting the operation of drilling rigs and ancillary equipment

*

Operating and maintaining mud cleaning/recycling equipment

*

Assisting with installation of ground-source heat pump borehole loops

*

Supporting grouting and borehole completion

*

Keeping the rig, equipment and work area clean, safe and prepared

*

Assisting with routine equipment checks and basic maintenance

*

Maintaining high health & safety and environmental standards

*

Supporting site records and QA/QC requirements

Requirements:

*

Previous drilling experience preferred but not essential

*

Previous outdoor construction, groundworks or site experience

*

CSCS card or ability to obtain one

*

Full UK Driving Licence

*

Strong work ethic and reliable attitude

*

Good communication and ability to work as part of a team

*

Willingness to learn and develop within geothermal drilling

*

Telehandler ticket and Emergency First Aid desirable
