Assistant Estimator / Estimator - Civil Engineering

Assistant Estimator or Estimator level professional with experience of working on civil engineering projects required to join a London based industry leader.

Key Responsibilities:

Preparing accurate cost estimates and tenders for civil engineering and infrastructure projects
Reviewing drawings, specifications, bills of quantities and other tender documentation
Obtaining and analysing supplier and subcontractor quotations
Supporting the development of labour, plant, materials and subcontractor costs
Contributing to tender submissions, cost plans and commercial reviews
Working closely with commercial, design, procurement and project delivery teams
Maintaining clear and accurate estimating records throughout the tender process
Supporting value engineering and identifying commercial risks and opportunities

Job Requirements:

Experience in civil engineering estimating, ideally gained within a contractor environment
Strong understanding of construction costs, project pricing and tender processes
Experience working on civil engineering projects
Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and quantities
Strong analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills
Excellent attention to detail and organisational abilities
Confident communication skills with the ability to liaise with suppliers, subcontractors and internal teams
Willingness to develop a career across the rail, nuclear, airport and energy sectors
