Our client, a well-established property management business, is looking for a Facilities Management Assistant to join its Newcastle team. Reporting to the Senior Regional Facilities Manager, you'll keep a portfolio of managed properties running smoothly, safely and in line with compliance requirements.
This is a varied role that mixes office-based admin with time out on site. You'll work closely with facilities, surveying and accounts colleagues, and build good relationships with tenants and contractors. Previous facilities or property experience would be beneficial but isn't essential. What matters most is a genuine interest in the property sector and a willingness to learn. Full training will be provided.
What you'll be doing
* Supporting the day-to-day running of facilities operations across the region
* Carrying out building inspections and health and safety checks, and reporting issues to the Facilities Manager and Surveyor
* Logging inspections on the Risk Manager App
* Taking monthly utility meter readings where required and keeping records up to date
* Helping to monitor statutory compliance across the portfolio
* Acting as a point of contact for tenants and making sure issues are logged and resolved promptly
* Liaising with contractors, suppliers and service providers
* Attending regular meetings with the Facilities Manager and Surveyor to review ongoing works and risk management
What we're looking for
* A keen interest in property and the property sector (essential)
* Previous facilities or property experience is beneficial but not required
* A professional, reliable approach and a strong sense of ownership
* Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office (full training on specialist systems is provided)
* An awareness of health and safety and an eye for spotting potential risks (training provided)
* The ability to prioritise your workload and work independently
* Discretion when handling confidential information
Why apply?
* A competitive salary
* A great route into facilities and property management, whether you're starting out or building on existing experience
* Full training provided, including on specialist platforms
* A hands-on role with variety, combining office work and site visits
* The chance to learn from experienced facilities and surveying professionals
