Assistant Finance Manager

We are currently supporting an internationally recognised logistics company based near Avonmouth (some hybrid working on offer), who are looking to recruit a Assistant Finance Manager.

My client is looking for an ambitious, commercial focussed Accountant to join this team of talented individuals, looking after one of their most high-profile contracts. They are hoping to secure someone who is on-track to be a fully-fledged Finance Manager in the next couple of years, offering guidance and support to get to that level.

You'd be getting involved in a variety of different task including producing the monthly management accounts, weekly flash reports, business partnering with senior stakeholders and additional project work to improve profitability of the contract.

Key responsibilities:

• Preparation of monthly management accounts.
• Variance analysis and commentary on performance against budget and forecast.
• Monthly balance sheet reconciliations, able to put controls in place.
• Support the Senior Finance Manager and Senior Account Director with ad-hoc commercial projects.
• Identify areas for process improvement and drive efficiencies across the finance function.

Key requirements:

• Part-qualified / finalist accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) ideally looking for your first move into the 'commercial world’ with experience in stakeholder interaction.
• Experience as an Assistant Management Accountant or Management Accountant in a fast-paced environment.
• Ambitious with strong commercial acumen and proven business partnering skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
