We’re looking for an ambitious and personable Assistant Finance Manager to support key financial processes and help drive performance across a dynamic portfolio. This role blends technical accounting responsibilities with meaningful stakeholder engagement, offering the perfect mix of variety and impact.

• Supporting the delivery of high-quality month-end reporting, quarterly forecasts, and the annual budget

• Handling a wide range of day-to-day financial queries, analysis, and ad hoc requests

• Partnering with senior stakeholders across six professional services sub-departments

• Assisting with team oversight and working closely with the Finance Manager on key deliverables

• Working across Excel and associated tools to maintain and improve financial processes

• Contributing to commercial projects and strategic initiatives within the wider university

• Helping modernise systems and enhance data-driven decision making

• AAT Level 4 or part-qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA (or QBE with strong experience)

• Excellent communication skills with a collaborative, proactive mindset

• Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, and month-end activity

• Comfortable working in a busy, stakeholder-facing finance role

• Confident Excel user with the ability to adapt to new systems quickly
