Job Description

We're recruiting for a an Assistant Finance Manager to join our International Reporting team within Legal and General Investment Management division in Cardiff.

The role holder is responsible for undertaking reporting activities within LGIM Finance. They will be responsible for the preparation of monthly management accounts and reporting for LGIM entities including LGIM Europe, European branches and other UK and overseas entities. They will be required to analyse data and prepare financial reporting packs to a high standard. The role holder will also be responsible for preparing regulatory reporting outputs, quarterly board financial reporting packs and annual financial statements for the entities they are responsible for. They will be required to build an excellent knowledge of the entities themselves, as well as understanding the entities' interactions with the wider LGIM Division to allow them to support the Financial Controller in managing the entity in respect of the financials, cashflow forecasting and capital monitoring. An increase focus on entity-driven financial reporting across LGIM Division makes this an exciting, challenging role with future progression opportunities for the right candidate.

What we are looking for
  • You will take responsibility for month end BAU including the preparation of month end accounting journals to accurately reflect investment activity, monthly accruals, foreign currency adjustments and consolidation postings.
  • You will prepare detailed monthly reporting packs that highlight the key drivers of performance of the entities. Analyse the data to highlight any areas for investigation and liaise with other teams including revenue or expenses teams to ensure accuracy of data.
  • You will demonstrate thorough understanding of the balance sheet of each entity and ensure the swift investigation of unexpected items through liaising with the relevant teams.
  • You will prepare the quarterly financial reporting packs for submission to the entity Board meetings.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly regulatory submissions ensuring the returns are accurate and prepared on a timely basis.
  • You will have responsibility for preparation of annual statutory accounts and liaising with external auditors to ensure thorough responses are provided to any questions raised during the audit process.
  • You will have an understanding the budget drivers for the entities, undertaking cashflow forecasting and capital monitoring.
  • In conjunction with the Group Tax team, ensure that taxes (including corporation tax and VAT) are accounted for accurately in the applicable entities' ledger
Qualifications

Who we're looking for:
