Regional Recruitment are recruiting for an Assistant Geo-environmental Consultant / Engineering Geologist to join a growing multidisciplinary engineering consultancy, with locations in Northamptonshire and Leicester.

This is an excellent opportunity to join an experienced team of structural, civil and geotechnical engineers, working across a range of environmental and geotechnical projects.

The role offers the opportunity to gain valuable experience across both field and office-based work, from initial site walkovers and investigations through to the verification of remedial works.

£29,000–£30,000 salary, dependent on experience

Qualifications

Essential:

Degree in Environmental Science or Geology

Minimum 1 year's relevant industry experience, although this is flexible for the right candidate

Full UK driving licence

Experience writing Phase I reports

Understanding of contamination assessments from Stage 1 Tier 1 through to Stage 3

Experience of geo-environmental and geotechnical site work

Experience of soil and rock logging in accordance with BS5930

Good communication skills

Competent with basic software including MS Office

Strong critical thinking skills for interpretation and technical reporting

Roles & Responsibilities

Support both field and office-based work across environmental and geotechnical projects

Work on projects from initial site walkovers through to verification of remedial works

Assist with site assessments and investigations

Undertake geo-environmental and geotechnical site work

Assist with soil and rock logging

Help prepare Phase I reports and other technical documentation

Contribute to contamination assessments

Support the preparation of technical reports and project documentation

Work closely with experienced colleagues across the multidisciplinary team

Contribute to successful project outcomes

Requirements

As an Assistant Geo-environmental Consultant / Engineering Geologist, you will also be expected to be:

A proactive and motivated individual

Confident working both independently and as part of a team

Comfortable working in both field and office environments

A good communicator with strong attention to detail

Able to apply critical thinking to technical information

Keen to develop your technical knowledge and career within the geo-environmental sector
