Assistant Head of Department Inclusion

• Annual Salary: £44,409 per annum
• Location: Multiple campuses in Cambridge (ability to travel independently between campuses is essential)

• Hours per Week: 37 hours

Join our Supported Learning Department as an Assistant Head of Department (Inclusion), where you will play a pivotal role in coordinating and enhancing our learning support provision. This role is integral in embedding equality, diversity, and inclusion practices, ensuring that students with SEND and High Needs receive a personalised and ambitious curriculum.

• Lecture and Coordinate: Deliver high-quality teaching across various programmes, including potential evening, Saturday, and summer sessions.
• Team Leadership: Manage Learning Support Mentors, conduct appraisals, and develop staffing strategies to support students with High Needs.
• Strategic Planning: Implement personalised curricula for students with High Needs, manage quality assurance processes, and ensure compliance with OFSTED requirements.
• Collaboration and Support: Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to enhance pedagogic practices and inclusion within the department.
• Resource Management: Lead on the adaptation of resources and planning to ensure all students reach their full potential in every learning environment.

• Qualifications: Degree or equivalent in a relevant subject, along with a teaching certificate such as DTLLS, Cert Ed, or PGCE.
• Experience: Extensive experience in specialist SEND education or post-16 training provision, with a proven track record of managing large teams and implementing inclusive practices.
• Skills: Excellent interpersonal, administrative, and communication skills; proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
• Disposition: Flexible, responsive, enthusiastic, and able to work under pressure while maintaining professionalism and prioritising effectively.
