The school was judged Good by Ofsted, with inspectors highlighting the welcoming culture, positive behaviour, ambitious curriculum and effective support for pupils with additional needs.
The Role As Assistant Headteacher, you will take strategic and operational responsibility for:
Attendance
Leading the school's attendance strategy and driving continuous improvement. Analysing attendance trends and implementing targeted interventions. Working closely with families, external agencies and school staff to reduce persistent absence. Developing positive relationships with parents and carers to promote excellent attendance. Ensuring robust monitoring, reporting and compliance with statutory attendance requirements.Behaviour and Culture
Leading and embedding a positive behaviour culture across the school. Supporting staff in implementing high expectations and consistent behaviour systems. Coordinating interventions for pupils requiring additional behavioural support. Monitoring behaviour data and using evidence-informed approaches to improve outcomes. Working proactively with families and external professionals where additional support is needed.Inclusion and SEND
Championing inclusive practice and ensuring all pupils have equitable access to learning. Supporting the development and implementation of provision for vulnerable learners. Contributing to strategic planning around SEND, pastoral support and wider inclusion priorities. Working collaboratively with teachers, support staff and external agencies to secure the best outcomes for pupils with additional needs. Promoting a culture where all children feel safe, valued and able to succeed.Safeguarding (Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead) As a key memberof the safeguarding team, you will:
Serve as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead and support all aspects of safeguarding practice. Work alongside senior leaders to ensure robust safeguarding systems and procedures are maintained. Manage referrals, liaise with external agencies and contribute to multi-agency working. Support staff training and the ongoing development of a strong safeguarding culture. Play a visible role in promoting pupil welfare, wellbeing and child protection across the school.The Ideal Candidate We are seeking an exceptional practitioner and leader who can demonstrate:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Successful leadership experience within a primary school setting. A strong track record of improving attendance, behaviour, pastoral provision or inclusion outcomes. Experience contributing to safeguarding and child protection processes. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective relationships with pupils, families, staff and external partners. A deep commitment to inclusion, equity and raising achievement for all learners. Strong analytical, organisational and strategic leadership skills. The ability to inspire, challenge and support colleagues to achieve excellence.Previous DDSL experience would be advantageous, although high-quality safeguarding experienceand a willingness to undertake further training will also be considered.
