Role Overview:

We are seeking a proactive and driven Senior Shift Engineer to join our team, with a strong possibility of promotion to Maintenance Manager within 6-12 months for the right candidate.

Responsibilities:

Monitor and maintain all building plant and catering equipment.
Perform hands-on maintenance tasks, including plumbing, carpentry, and electrical work.
Ensure adherence to Health & Safety standards. Experience in a housing or property development company is ideal.
Use appropriate safety clothing and equipment, following all maintenance instructions provided by the chief engineer.
Accurately record all necessary plant information and report any defects.
Monitor engineering stock levels and communicate needs to the chief engineer.
Maintain accurate records of shift activities in log books or systems.
Carry out general painting, tiling, and other reasonable duties as directed by the chief engineer or management team.
Document and perform handovers at shift changes, ensuring all incomplete work orders or work in progress are noted.
Update the job log system with the status of all work orders promptly.
Respond to job log system registered works and complete all assigned jobs within targeted timescales.
Liaise with external contractors employed to carry out maintenance work.
Ensure that preventive maintenance measures (PPMs) are carried out regularly.
Conduct daily walk-throughs of the hotel to ensure all areas are in good order.
Inspect and routinely maintain all plant equipment as required.
Liaise with contractors and suppliers.

Requirements:

Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role, ideally with a property background.
Friendly, approachable, and positive attitude at all times.

Organized and proactive with a keen eye for detail.
