Assistant Management Accountant

Adele Carr Recruitment is delighted to be partnering with a long-standing client in the construction industry, as they look to recruit a confident and capable Finance Professional to join their team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has strong all-round finance experience and is ready to step into a key role, supporting the finance function by bridging the gap between junior team members and senior management.
Our client is a well-established, reputable business with a collaborative team culture and a growing order book. They are looking for someone hands-on, adaptable, and detail-focused, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities of the role:

• Supporting and guiding junior finance staff with day-to-day queries and training
• Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts
• Processing and reconciling purchase ledger transactions
• Managing credit control and debtor communications
• Performing bank reconciliations across multiple accounts
• Processing staff expenses in line with company policies
• Handling CIS returns and payments in line with HMRC requirements
• Supporting with internal reporting and ad hoc finance tasks
• Identifying opportunities for process improvement and supporting system enhancements

Specifications of the right candidate:

• AAT qualified (Level 3 or above) - essential
• Strong, broad finance experience across both transactional and reporting areas
• Knowledge of CIS and construction-related finance processes - highly desirable
• Experience using Sage and ideally Eque2 Construct - advantageous
• Comfortable supervising or mentoring junior team members
• Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
• Confident communicator with a proactive and solutions-focused approach
