Job Title: Assistant Management Accountant
Location: Derby
Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 (DOE) Study Support
Working Pattern: Full-time, Office-Based (Some flexibility available)

We’re working exclusively with a successful and expanding business in Derby to recruit an Assistant Management Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their technical skills and progress within a commercial finance environment.

The Role:
This is a broad and varied role supporting the month-end process and wider finance function. You’ll work closely with senior finance and operational stakeholders, helping to deliver accurate and insightful financial information.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with balance sheet reconciliations
• Support P&L analysis and reporting
• Post journals including accruals, prepayments, and depreciation
• Investigate variances and cost movements
• Help produce commentary and analysis for internal stakeholders
• Contribute to process improvements and reporting enhancements

Requirements:

• Experience in a finance role with some exposure to month-end tasks
• Good understanding of P&L, balance sheets, and financial processes
• Strong Excel skills (e.g., PivotTables, XLOOKUP)
• Confident, analytical, and eager to learn
• AAT qualified or studying towards CIMA/ACCA/ACA (preferred)
