Job Title: Assistant Management Accountant
Location: Melton Mowbray area - Fully On-Site
Salary: £32,000 - £40,000 (DOE) + Full Study Support
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM

Own transport and a full UK driving licence are essential due to the site's rural location and limited access to public transport.

We're working in partnership with a well-established organisation near Melton Mowbray that is seeking a confident and ambitious Assistant Management Accountant. This role is perfect for someone who has already built a solid foundation in finance and is now looking to progress within a commercial, hands-on environment.

You'll work closely with the Finance Manager, contributing to the production of financial information and playing a key part in maintaining the accuracy and efficiency of the month-end process. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone studying towards ACCA or CIMA who is eager to develop and broaden their experience.

• Support the production of monthly management accounts, including journal entries, accruals, and prepayments

• Assist with budgeting and forecasting cycles

• Conduct detailed variance analysis and present meaningful commentary

• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies

• Be the first point of contact for the purchase ledger team's queries and assist with issue resolution from a mentoring perspective

• Help improve internal processes and controls

• Prepare documentation and analysis for year-end audit activity

• Provide ad hoc financial reporting and analysis when required

• AAT qualified or currently studying towards ACCA/CIMA

• Solid grounding in accounting fundamentals and financial reporting

• Prior experience in a similar finance role - this is not a graduate role

• Strong attention to detail with a proactive mindset

• Confident communicator, able to work cross-functionally

• Must be skilled and confident with Excel including Pivot Tables & Lookups, and comfortable with finance systems

• Retail or FMCG background ideal

• Competitive salary between £32,000 - £40,000 depending on experience
