Job Description - Assistant Management Accountant

Our client is looking for a motivated and detail-driven Assistant Management Accountant to support the delivery of timely and accurate financial reporting. This role plays a key part in month-end processes, forecasting, and budgeting, helping ensure financial data supports decision-making across the business.

Key Responsibilities of Assistant Management Accountant

Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts
Perform journal entries, accruals, and prepayments
Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis
Support budgeting and forecasting cycles with relevant data and insights
Assist with cost analysis and reporting on key financial performance indicators
Liaise with internal departments to gather financial inputs
Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with internal policies and external regulations
Support year-end audit processes and liaise with external auditors
Continuously improve reporting tools and systems for efficiency and accuracy
Provide ad hoc financial analysis as required by the Finance Manager

Skills & Qualifications

Part-qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
Solid understanding of management accounting principles
Strong Excel skills; experience with financial systems
Excellent attention to detail and analytical thinking
Effective communicator with the ability to explain financial information clearly
Able to work independently and meet tight deadlines
A proactive approach to continuous improvement
