Assistant Management Accountant

Macildowie are working with a client based in North Leicestershire to recruit an Assistant Management Accountant. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established business in the logistics industry, offering the chance to play a key role in delivering accurate and timely financial information that supports strategic decision-making.

Working Arrangement: Hybrid working (1-2 days work from home)

The Role:
You will assist the finance leadership with the preparation of monthly management accounts, providing variance commentary, and ensuring the timely closure of ledgers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare monthly management accounts with variance analysis within agreed deadlines
• Post accrual and prepayment journals accurately
• Complete and gain approval for monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Close sales and purchase ledgers at month-end
• Produce monthly management packs and presentations for the board
• Identify and recommend cost savings and efficiency improvements
• Support audits by providing required reports and documentation

About You:

• Qualified AAT or equivalent accounting qualification
• Minimum 2 years' experience in accounting or finance
• Strong Excel skills with the ability to work with advanced functions
• Proactive, with excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders across the business
