Description

Assistant Management Accountant duties include:

• Assist in producing monthly management accounts (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow), including variance analysis and commentary

• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and journal postings (accruals, prepayments)

• Review purchase invoice postings for accurate nominal coding

• Support in preparing quarterly VAT returns

• Participate in finance projects and continuous process improvements

• Provide data analysis and reporting to support commercial decisions

• Contribute to annual budgeting and forecasting processes

• Assist with statutory accounts, audits and tax queries

• Review and improve accounting procedures for increased efficiency

• Conduct financial analysis to aid profitability and strategic growth

Profile

• Currently studying towards or looking to begin a qualification in AAT, ACCA, CIMA (or equivalent)

• Advanced Excel skills - including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and formulas

• Experience using Sage 200 or similar accounting software is desirable

• Excellent organisation and time-management skills

• Ability to prioritise under pressure in a fast-moving environment

• Proactive mindset and ability to take initiative

• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across the business

• Experience with stock and multi-currency/forex transactions is a plus
