Job Description - Assistant Management Accountant

Shaw healthcare are currently recruiting for an Assistant Management Accountant to join our Finance department based in our head office in St Mellons, Cardiff.
Hours

37.5 Hours per week

Monday-Friday (Hybrid working once induction has been completed)
Salary

up to £26,000 DOE

Objectives
To make a significant contribution to the achievement of the groups business objectives by providing a high standard of financial support, direction and control to all areas of the business, ensuring that clear, accurate and relevant financial information is available on a timely basis.
Principal duties
Practice Expectations
At all times to provide excellent customer service for both internal and external clients and to work to the highest standards in all KPIs
General Management
Assisting in the production of accurate and well-presented Management Accounts working papers in line with defined timescales.
Posting of journals including accruals, prepayments & deferred income.
Assisting non-finance colleagues with their understanding of budgets and financial performance.
Reviewing and authorising purchase invoices, checking for appropriateness, consistency of allocation and accuracy including maintenance order reviews.
Checking payment runs and resolving any BACS payment issues.
Recording payments and receipts accurately on a daily basis and reconciling company bank accounts on a monthly basis.
Ensuring that resident bank accounts and cash is appropriately safeguarded and recorded, statements are reviewed and filed.
Reviewing and preparing intercompany transaction journals for goods and services between companies.
Other responsibilities
Assisting with the external audit process, working in partnership with the Central Finance team.
Performance of any other reasonable duties which may be requested by the Line Manager in order to contribute to the achievement of the groups objectives
Essential Criteria
Experience of assisting in the production of Management Accounts
Proficient in using a computer (good Microsoft Excel skills)
Experience of working in an office environment
Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with a wide range of people
Ability to plan, prioritise and organise own workload with established timescales
Desirable Criteria
Working towards or completion of AAT
Experience of working in a Healthcare company environment
Full clean driving license
