Assistant Management Accountant Hybrid

This role sits with the project management side of the finance team focusing on supporting financial operations and reporting within the energy and natural resources industry. The Assistant Management Accountant will assist in managing accounts, month end processes and ensuring compliance with financial regulations in Grazeley.

Description

The Assistant Management Accountant responsibilities will include:

• Support the Senior Finance Manager to ensure that monthly and annual responsibilities are satisfied in line with expectations
• Take ownership of the preparation of monthly management accounts for the group
• Assist in preparation and posting of monthly journals (eg prepayments & accruals)
• Assist in the reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, investigating and resolving discrepancies
• Assist the annual tax, accounting, and audit year-end processes
• Assist in execution of activities detailed on monthly to-do lists (eg VAT returns, CIS returns)
• Support in the preparation of annual statutory accounts for the Group.
• Assist in monthly/quarterly project meetings- Business development, 'EPC' projects & 'O&M' sites.
• Supporting transactional information eg purchase order & invoice processing, expenses, weekly bank reconciliations
• Provide ad hoc analysis and support to the finance team and other departments.

Profile

The successful Assistant Management Accountant should have:

• A demonstrable background in accounting and finance, either with responsibility for or supporting on management accounts and month end processes
• AAT qualified or part qualified in CIMA, ACCA or ACA and keen to progress their studies
• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment
• An understanding of financial regulations and compliance requirements
