Job Title: Assistant Irrigation Manager
Location: Herefordshire
Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Contract Type: Full-time

Role Overview:

As the Assistant Irrigation Manager, you will report directly to the Irrigation Manager. Your primary responsibility will be the timely and accurate irrigation of our raspberry and blueberry crops. You will also conduct regular water testing, monitor fertigation programs, and assist in the installation, maintenance, and operation of irrigation equipment. Additionally, you will be involved in glasshouse maintenance and climate control.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure timely and correct irrigation of raspberry and blueberry crops.
• Conduct regular water testing to ensure optimal crop health.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of fertigation programs.
• Assist with the installation, maintenance, and operation of irrigation equipment.
• Participate in glasshouse maintenance and climate control activities.

Key Skills and Knowledge Required:

• Minimum of 1 year of previous experience in irrigation on fruit or arable farms.
• Availability to work weekends and overtime during the growing season.
• Knowledge of irrigation systems (e.g., Dream2, AdCon, or PRIVA) is advantageous.
• Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Full clean driving license.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Excellent organization and planning skills.
• Good communication skills, with the ability to interact with colleagues and workers, including non-English speakers.
• Ability to work independently and a willingness to learn.
