Job Description - Assistant Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and experienced Assistant Event Operations Manager to join the F&B team to seamlessly deliver all events within the Wentworth Club, whilst maintaining an efficient and cost-effective operation. The successful candidate will work closely with the F&B Management team to continually improve the Member experience.
You will be assisting the daily operations of our Clubhouse F&B outlets. You must have strong management skills working alongside the restaurant and bar management team and other team members. A passion for delivering the highest level of service, consistently exceeding the expectation of our Members. An ability and desire to grow and develop our existing menus.

Key Accountabilities:
To support the Head of Events & F&B Manager in planning and executing events, including but not limited to, the Annual Club Life Events Calendar, as well as corporate, private, internal and golf events for Members and their guests.
Ensure all rooms are set up according to the details specified on the BEO/ Function Sheet and to the WW Standard.
Meeting and greeting function organisers and ensuring all details for the function are correct.
To communicate with all relevant departments any changes made by the function organiser.
To support the booking Event Casuals/ Support Team as per the Rota and to advise the Head of Events of any shortfall so that agency staff may be booked if necessary.
To ensure that function bills are posted correctly by verifying that any “extra” services or products sold to a function are clearly noted on the relevant function sheets.
To accept joint responsibility for ensuring that:
all function rooms are left in a clean and tidy state and ready for viewing by prospective clients with lights and air conditioning on/ off (as applicable).
all “back-of-house” rooms are left in a clean and presentable state.
To accept joint responsibility for the security of all Banqueting equipment and to ensure sufficient stock levels for the weekly operation of the department.
To deal with any complaints or difficulties tactfully and report them to the Head of Events/ Director of F&B/ F&B manager.
In conjunction with the Event Operations Manager, set implement and continually review the standards of operation for the Events Department.
Ensure all rooms are set up according to the details specified on the function sheet.
To assume full control of the Event Operations Department in the absence of the Event Operations Manager, including meeting and greeting function organisers and ensuring all details for the function are correct as per up-dated function sheets.
To accept joint responsibility for the security of all Banqueting equipment and to ensure sufficient stock level for the weekly operation.
Support effective management and mentorship of the Events Operations team.
To ensure security of the beverage stock, both behind the bar and in the fridges.
Put forward to the Head of Events and F&B Manager any proposals for improvement to any aspect of the operation.
To train all new Events employees (full-timers and casuals) in Health and Safety, Fire Safety, day-to-day job tasks and responsibilities etc.
To ensure all Event employees are fully briefed regarding function menus, order of service, wines and after dinner activities etc.
Attending and presenting at relevant events or meetings as appropriate
Responsible for show rounds on weekdays and weekends to encourage business and ensuring effective follow up.
