A leading accountancy practice is seeking an experienced Assistant Manager to join their Business Services & Outsourcing team in Ipswich. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant looking to take the next step in their career within a supportive, growth-focused environment. This role offers exposure to varied and challenging work, and the chance to build meaningful relationships with clients across multiple sectors.

Role Responsibilities

• Be the day-to-day contact for your allocated portfolio.
• Plan delivery of work on your own portfolio and prepare high-quality files for manager review.
• Liaise with client to resolve queries before submitting accounts to manager for review.
• Manage the work of more junior team members on your portfolio, including briefings and monitoring of performance to ensure completion of the job.
• Provide ad-hoc accounting assistance.
• Complete the client-take-on procedures for new clients, to include preparing engagement letters for manager and partner review
• Attend year-end client meetings with the Partner/Manager to develop client relationships.

Personal Requirements

• ACCA/ ACA Qualified or equivalent experience.
• Accountancy practice experience required.
• Strong communication skills.
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office especially Excel.
• Excellent knowledge of accounting packages including Xero, IRIS and Sage.
