Assistant Preconstrucution Manager

An award-winning workplace design, fit out and refurbishment specialist is seeking an AssistantPreconstruction Manager to join its growing London team.

Following continued growth and an ambitious expansion strategy, they are looking for a commercially aware construction professional to support the successful delivery of projects through the preconstruction phase.

The Opportunity

Working alongside experienced Commercial Managers, Designers and Project Delivery teams, you will play a key role in developing cost plans, coordinating information and managing the preconstruction process from initial enquiry through to project handover.

This position offers an excellent route into senior preconstruction leadership and would suit candidates from Assistant Quantity Surveying, Quantity Surveying, Commercial, Estimating or Preconstruction backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities

Support the development of commercial and preconstruction strategies for project bids and pitches.
Assist in preparing cost plans, budgets and commercial proposals.
Review client briefs, Employer's Requirements, fit out guides and technical documentation.
Coordinate information between design, sales and subcontractor teams to ensure alignment between design solutions and project budgets.
Attend site surveys and support subcontractor engagement and pricing exercise
Assist in reviewing tender submissions and preparing commercial comparisons.
Support negotiations with subcontractors and suppliers to achieve best value.
Produce and maintain cost breakdowns and commercial documentation.
Assist with procurement schedules and management of long-lead items.
Support the management of RFIs and landlord approval processes.
Work closely with project teams to ensure a smooth transition from preconstruction through to delivery.
Maintain compliance with health & safety legislation, building regulations and company procedures.

Requirements

Experience within commercial fit out, interiors, refurbishment or design & build construction.
Previous experience as an Assistant Preconstruction Manager, Assistant Quantity Surveyor, Quantity Surveyor, Estimator or Commercial Assistant.
Strong commercial awareness and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Experience using Excel and working with project cost information.
Ambitious, proactive and eager to develop a long-term career in preconstruction.
