Assistant Quantity Surveyor – Data Centre Project, Hayes, West London
We are working with an established design, construction and engineering contractor with over 30 years of industry experience, delivering complex projects across the data centre, defence and energy sectors.
We are currently looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team on a major data centre development in Union Park, Hayes.
The project is a significant, high-value development comprising 18 data halls, delivering approximately 24MW of IT power, alongside high-voltage and medium-voltage energy infrastructure and associated facilities. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience on a major live data centre project and develop your career within a specialist contractor with strong opportunities for progression.
As Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will support the commercial delivery of the project, working closely with the wider project and commercial teams. Responsibilities will include:
* Supporting cost reporting, forecasting and cost-value reconciliation
* Assisting with valuations, applications for payment and cost control
* Supporting procurement and subcontractor management
* Reviewing subcontractor applications and accounts
* Assisting with variations, change management and final accounts
* Maintaining accurate commercial records
* Identifying and escalating commercial risks and opportunities
* Working closely with project teams, subcontractors and suppliers
About You:
* Relevant experience within a construction or project environment
* HNC, HND or degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
* Understanding of commercial processes, procurement and subcontract administration
* Experience with measurement, valuations or cost reporting is desirable
* Keen to develop towards a fully independent Quantity Surveyor role
