The Opportunity:

Due to a period of sustained growth, we are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their close-knit team on a permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your career in a dynamic and supportive environment.

You will be working closely with the Senior Quantity Surveyor, taking on increasing responsibility for the day-to-day commercial management of their diverse projects. While the QS focuses on strategic reporting, you will be integral to the hands-on project delivery, ensuring financial control and efficiency from inception to completion.

This role is ideal for a recent graduate in Quantity Surveying or an individual with 1-2 years of experience looking for more direct project involvement and mentorship.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assisting with the preparation of estimates and cost plans.
• Managing day-to-day project finances and cost control.
• Identifying and issuing early warning notices in a timely manner.
• Assisting in the preparation of monthly valuations and applications for payment.
• Procurement of subcontractors and materials.
• Measurement and valuation of works in progress.
• Assisting with the preparation of final accounts.
• Maintaining accurate commercial records.
• Liaising with clients, subcontractors, and the internal operational teams.

What We're Looking For:

• A degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying or a related construction field.
• Some experience in a Quantity Surveying role within the civils, utilities, or highways sector is advantageous but not essential.
• A strong desire to learn and develop a long-term career in Quantity Surveying.
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A proactive and "can-do" attitude.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• A valid UK driving licence.
