Job Description - Assistant Shipping Manager

Job Title: Assistant Shipping Manager

Location: Wirral
Salary: NEG DOE
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Hours: Mon-Fri Office hours

Core Responsibilities

Manage international shipments (air, sea, road)
Supervise packing team
Prepare shipping documentation
Ensure compliance with customs and trade regulations
Communicate with suppliers and internal teams
Use ERP/WMS systems for tracking and reporting

Essential Requirements

5+ years in shipping/logistics
2+ years in a supervisory role
Knowledge of freight methods (FTL, groupage, parcel)
Experience with ERP/WMS systems (Navision preferred)
Strong understanding of customs documentation, Incoterms, Brexit procedures
Familiarity with UK HMRC rules
