Assistant Solicitor

Job Description Looking for an exciting opportunity to develop your legal skills and work on a high-profile public inquiry? Look no further than this role as an Assistant Solicitor for the Scottish Hospitals Inquiry.

As an Assistant Solicitor, you will play a key role in supporting the Inquiry's legal team. You will be responsible for preparing working papers on lines of enquiry, working with other members of the Inquiry team and legal representatives of core participants to prepare witness statements, and liaising with Counsel on the progress of lines of enquiry and witness statements.

You will also be responsible for supporting Counsel and others at oral hearings, drafting and ensuring compliance with the Inquiry's procedure/protocol documents, and providing legal advice to the Chair and the Inquiry team.

The successful candidate will be based in central Edinburgh, with occasional travel to Glasgow. While adopting a hybrid working approach, the post holder is expected to be in the office at least three days a week.
