Job Description - Assistant Tax Manager

Assistant Manager – Corporate Tax

Belfast | Competitive Salary | Flexible | Hybrid Working

Reed Finance is delighted to be working with a leading firm who are seeking a talented and driven Assistant Tax Manager to join its dynamic and growing tax team. This role offers a diverse range of responsibilities, supporting senior leadership in delivering high-quality tax advisory and compliance services to a broad client base.

This is an excellent opportunity to further develop your technical knowledge and leadership capabilities through a combination of hands-on experience and structured training.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee a portfolio of clients, ensuring high standards of service delivery.
  • Take ownership of financial management for your client portfolio, including budgeting, cost monitoring, and variance analysis.
  • Plan, monitor, and review team output, occasionally deputising for senior colleagues.
  • Liaise with HMRC and other professional bodies as required.
  • Support resource planning to ensure balanced staff development and workload.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
  • Uphold quality control standards and ensure compliance with internal and external regulations.
  • Produce high-quality written communications and documentation.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, identifying opportunities for additional services.
  • Collaborate with other specialist teams to deliver integrated client solutions.
  • Represent the firm at networking and marketing events, promoting a wide range of services.
  • Undertake other duties as required by senior leadership.

What you need to succeed:

  • CTA or ACA qualified (or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in tax compliance and advisory.
  • Strong technical knowledge across a range of corporate tax issues.
  • Proven ability to deliver exceptional client service under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
  • Demonstrated people management experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
