About the Role


The Employee Service Centre (ESC) is looking to appoint a adept and customer focused Assistant Team Leader to join our ESC Recruitment Team.


Forming part of East Midlands Shared Services (EMSS), the ESC Recruitment Team provides comprehensive recruitment administration support for our partners, Nottingham City Council & Leicestershire County Council, along with some external customers. From vacancy creation and advertising through to onboarding, the team work closely with hiring managers and candidates to deliver a professional, efficient and high-quality recruitment experience while ensuring compliance with employment and recruitment legislation.


This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering efficient, high-quality administration services. This role will provide the successful candidate with an opportunity to develop their leadership experience within a busy recruitment environment. Working closely with the Team Leader, you'll gain valuable exposure to operational leadership, service improvement and stakeholder engagement, helping to build the skills and experience needed for future career progression within the ESC.

About You


To apply for this post, you must:



  • Have a qualification at NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) or significant relevant experience. 

  • Have experience of working within a payroll and/or HR administration environment with a focus on recruitment processes, best practice and relevant statutory requirements. 

  • Have experience of using and maintaining Oracle Fusion, especially Oracle Recruiting Cloud (ORC), and other ICT systems including Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word and Outlook. 

  • Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret information and make recommendations to improve processes and service delivery.

  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships and provide advice, support and guidance to colleagues, customers and stakeholders at all levels.

  • Have strong organisational skills, including the ability to work independently, prioritise competing demands, meet deadlines and maintain high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Have a customer-focused and collaborative approach, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team, support the development of others and resolve complex enquiries in a professional manner.
