An established and growing building services consultancy is seeking a senior -level Associate Director to lead major MEP projects and contribute to the strategic growth of its Reading office.

This opportunity suits an experienced leader who combines strong technical delivery with commercial awareness and enjoys building long -term client partnerships.

About The Role

You will take ownership of complex multi -disciplinary schemes across mechanical, electrical and public health disciplines, acting as the senior point of contact for clients while ensuring high standards of technical delivery and financial performance.

Alongside project leadership, you will play an important role in business development, supporting bids, strengthening client relationships, and mentoring developing engineers within the regional team.

Key Areas Of Responsibility

• Lead large -scale MEP projects from inception through completion
  
• Act as principal liaison for clients, consultants and stakeholder
  
• Oversee coordination across engineering discipline
• Ensure commercial targets, budgets and programme milestones are achieved
• Support bid submissions and contribute to securing new work
• Monitor resource allocation and team performance
• Maintain technical excellence, compliance and risk management standard
  
• Help shape and strengthen the regional office presence
  

Ideal Profile

• Chartered Engineer status (CEng)
  
• Strong electrical engineering foundation with broader MEP knowledge
• Demonstrated experience delivering complex building services projects
  
• Commercially astute with an understanding of profitability and risk
  
• Confident communicator at all stakeholder levels
  
• Experienced in leading and developing technical teams
  
• Strong organisational and planning capability

Requirements

Candidate Requirements

• Chartered Engineer status (CEng) or working toward equivalent
  

• Strong background in electrical building services, with broader MEP understanding
  

• Demonstrated experience managing complex, multi -disciplinary building services projects
  

• Proven ability to manage client relationships and secure repeat business
  

• Strong commercial awareness, including budget oversight and risk management
  

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  

• Experience leading and motivating technical teams
  

• Highly organised with strong planning and decision -making capability
  

• Extensive industry experience (typically 10+ years) within building services engineering
